When I was asked to write a brief description of why I wanted to be a part of the Rob’s One Percent project, my mind went blank. I began to wonder- what brought me to this point? Of course it began with seeing him in Twilight, but why Rob? I read the Twilight books, because a friend recommended them to me. As I read the books, I fell in love with Edward. He is hopelessly devoted to the love of his life. Who wouldn’t fall in love with him?
As I read the books, I had no idea that there had just been a movie released from the first book. I checked all the cinemas around me and found a second run theater that was playing it. I frequented that theater so many times, that I think they actually knew me by name. I had become a rabid Twi-fan.
I didn’t fully realize my love for all things Rob until I started seeking out his other projects. I devoured every interview and magazine article I could get my hands on. The more I saw and read about him, the more intrigued I became. My twitter account quickly became my link to the Rob world. I had NO idea what this would become. I had no clue that I’d spend countless hours talking about him and looking at dozens of his pictures. I told my husband that I’d finally found ‘my people’!
My husband frequently asks me, “What is it about this guy?” I never know quite how to answer that question. Is it his good looks? Yes, those don’t hurt. Is it his glorious singing voice? That is definitely part of it. Is it the depth of his acting skills? Yes, I am forever intrigued by the various roles that he chooses to play. In fact, watching his movies has definitely broadened the spectrum of movies that I watch. What about his personality? Oh THAT is clearly one of the main draws to this man. I love that he is so expressive, wacky and genuine. I could go on and on about his humor, intelligence and charm. What started out as a love for all things Twilight has morphed into a healthy obsession with Rob’s career. Yes, I did say healthy. This amazing world of Rob fandom has introduced me to wonderful friends and many opportunities I may not otherwise have taken. I can credit all of that to our mutual fondness of that wonky legged, velvet voiced, sex haired man named, Robert Pattinson.
